The fall semester is in full swing, and our choristers are currently preparing for their upcoming performance season. You may be wondering: how do our choristers learn a piece of music, or, how does your organization get invited to sing at events? First, on top of the foundation of practicing music theory, choristers learn a piece of music during rehearsals by breaking it down into sections, practicing vocal parts individually and together, focusing on pitch, rhythm, dynamics, and expression, and refining these elements through repetition and guidance from the director.
Collaborative partners engage SDCC for musical pieces featuring the young voice. We regularly partner with professional organizations like the San Diego Symphony, Mainly Mozart Youth Orchestra, and San Diego Master Chorale, to name a few. These diverse and unique opportunities create memorable experiences and provide formative performance training to our young artists.
Experience the talent of our choirs, along with local and visiting artists, in incredible venues — join us for unforgettable performances this fall!
