NOTE FOR NEW STUDENTS SPRING 2025: For students enrolling for the first time with little or no previous music reading instruction, we strongly recommend signing up for the winter music reading intensive. Because most students participate in choir for the full academic year, this class is helpful in ensuring that your child will feel prepared when rehearsals begin.
Weekly rehearsals consist of up to 25 students per site, with the full group gathering periodically for large group rehearsals
Children continue to develop their well-supported healthy singing voice (head-voice) and work weekly on advancing music reading skills
They sing in unison, frequently in rounds and occasional two-part repertoire in many languages and styles
Music literacy training (Orff and Kodály methods) and healthy vocal training
